I express my sincere gratitude to the DAAD-Stiftung for awarding me the Garissa Master Scholarship in Kenya. This esteemed scholarship has not only provided financial support but has also been instrumental in facilitating the continuation of my studies. The recognition from the DAAD-Stiftung has been an honor and a crucial factor in shaping my academic and professional journey. The DAAD-Stiftung's commitment to nurturing academic excellence has inspired me to strive for higher standards in my studies.
The Garissa Master Scholarship from the DAAD-Stiftung has been a catalyst for my academic pursuits, enabling me to delve into a research study focused on enhancing learners' understanding and motivation in mathematics through the implementation of the ASSURE method of instructional design. The assigned topic of research stated, “Influence of educational media on the teaching and performance of Mathematics in Bungoma North.” This scholarship has not only paved the way for academic success but has also laid a solid foundation for a promising start to my professional career of being a lecturer in the department of curriculum and instruction in order to help the country in developing a curriculum that will suit the needs of Kenyan children.
The scholarship provided essential financial support, covering tuition fees, research expenses, and living costs, relieving financial burdens, and allowing me to concentrate fully on my studies. My parents sold a piece of land to send me to school, and that amount was used to pay for my first year’s fees, and we remained without any hope of me continuing my education.
