Experience reports: In-country / In-region

Hofmann/DAAD

Here, international scholarship holders of the DAAD-Stiftung share experiences from their scholarship period, which they spent in their home country (In-country, sur place) or in a neighboring country (In-region).

Find out more about the added value a scholarship can have for international students and researchers, even if they are unable to come to Germany.

International academic exchange is not necessarily associated with travel to/from Germany. Knowledge generation/expansion can also take place abroad (sur place) for international academics. This funding variant is either initiated by the requirements of the DAAD-Stiftung's sponsors or is based on the foundation's own impulses.

Through the exchange with the (German) sponsors, the DAAD-Stiftung based in Germany and contact persons in the worldwide network offices of the foundation's trustee, the DAAD e.V., intercultural aspects are incorporated into the sur place scholarships and their execution.

Here you can read how content the DAAD-Stiftung's scholarship holders have been to receive support through purpose-free donations or thanks to a Stipendien-Patenschaft (individual sponsorship).
